Dua for 28th NightRecite this Dua on the 28th Night of Ramadhan
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful
أسئلك أن تصلي على محمد وأل محمد
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
اللهم صل على محمد وال محمد
O (One) who keeps safe the night in the atmosphere,
يا خازن الليل في الهواء
and keeps safe the light in the sky,
وخازن النور في السماء
and prevents the sky to fall on the earth
ومانع السماء أن تقع على الأرض
except by His permission,
إلا بإذنه
and holds them back lest they move away.
وحابسهما أن تزولا
O All-Knowing, O Mighty,
يا عليم يا عظيم
O Forgiver, O Eternal,
يا غفور يا دائم
O Allah, O Inheritor,
يا الله يا وارث
O (One) who will raise those in the graves.
يا باعث من في القبور
O Allah, O Allah, O Allah,
يا الله يا الله يا الله
You have the most beautiful names,
لك الأسماء الحُسنى
the highest examples,
والأمثال العُليا
the grandeur, the bounties.
والكبرياء والألاء
I beseech You to, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
أسئلك أن تُصلي على محمد وال محمد
and place my name, in this night, among the fortunate,
وأن تجعل اسمي في هذه الليلة في السعداء
and my soul among the martyrs,
ورُوحي مع الشهداء
let my good deeds be (written) in the 'Illiyyin (Book of the virtuous),
واحساني في عليّين
and my evil deeds be forgiven.
واسائتي مغفورة ،
(And I beseech You to ) grant me
وأن تهب لي
a certainty which gives joy to my heart,
يقيناً تُباشر في قلبي
and a faith which drives doubt away from me,
وايماناً يُذهب الشكّ عني
and make me pleased with what You have granted me.
وتُرضيني بما قسمت لي
(And I beseech You to) Give us good in this world,
واتنا في الدنيا حسنة
and good in the Hereafter,
وفي الأخرة حسنة
and save us from the punishment of the burning fire. (2:201)
وقنا عذاب النار الحريق
(And I beseech You to) grant me in it (Laylatul Qadr) Your remembrance,
وارزقني فيها ذكرك
and Your gratitude, and desire for (pleasing) You,
وشكرك والرغبة إليك
turning (to You for repentance), and success,
والإنابة والتوفيق لما
for all that You have granted Muhammad and his family,
وفقت له محمد وأل محمد
peace be on him and on them.
