Dua for 29th NightRecite this Dua on the night of 29th Ramadhan
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful
اللهم صل على محمد وال محمد
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
يا مُكوّر الليل على النهار
O (One) who coils the night into the day,
ومُكور النهار على الليل
and coils the day into the night.
يا عليم يا حكيم ،
O All-Knowing, O Wise,
يا رب الأرباب وسيّد السادات
O the Lord of Lords, and the Chief of chiefs.
لا إله إلا أنت
There is no god but You.
يا أقرب إليّ من حبل الوريد
O (One) who is nearer to me than my jugular vein.
يا الله يا الله يا الله
O Allah, O Allah, O Allah,
لك الأسماء الحُسنى
You have the most beautiful names,
والأمثال العُليا
the highest examples,
والكبرياء والألاء
the grandeur, the bounties.
أسئلك أن تُصلي على محمد وال محمد
I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad,
وأن تجعل اسمي في هذه الليلة في السعداء
and place my name, in this night, among the fortunate,
ورُوحي مع الشهداء
and my soul among the martyrs,
واحساني في عليّين
let my good deeds be (written) in the 'Illiyyin (Book of the virtuous),
واسائتي مغفورة ،
and my evil deeds be forgiven.
وان تهب لي
(And I beseech You to )
يقيناً تُباشر به قلبي
grant me a certainty which gives joy to my heart,
وايماناً يُذهب الشك عني
and a faith which drives doubt away from me,
وتُرضيني بما قسمت لي
and make me pleased with what You have granted me.
وأتنا في الدنيا حسنة
(And I beseech You to) Give us good in this world,
وفي الأخرة حسنة
and good in the Hereafter,
وقنا عذاب النار الحريق
and save us from the punishment of the burning fire.(2:201)
وارزقني فيها ذكرك
(And I beseech You to) grant me in it (Laylatul Qadr) Your remembrance,
وشكرك والرغبة إليك
and Your gratitude, and desire for (pleasing) You,
والأنابة والتوفيق
turning (to You for repentance), and success,
لما وفقت له محمد وال محمد
for all that You have granted Muhammad and his family,
عليه وعليهم السلام
peace be on him and on them.
