Al-A'raaf: 155

وَٱخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُۥ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيقَٰتِنَا فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّٰىَ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٥٥﴾
And Musa chose out of his people seventy men for Our appointment; so when the earthquake overtook them, he said:
My Lord! if Thou hadst pleased, Thou hadst destroyed them before and myself (too); wilt Thou destroy us for what the fools among us have done? It is naught but Thy trial, Thou makest err with it whom Thou pleasest and guidest whom Thou pleasest: Thou art our Guardian, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the forgivers.
اور موسٰی علیھ السّلامنے ہمارے وعدہ کے لئے اپنی قوم کے ستر ّ افراد کا انتخاب کیا پھر اس کے بعد جب ایک جھٹکے نے انھیں اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیا تو کہنے لگے کہ
پرودگار اگر تو چاہتا تو انھیں پہلے ہی ہلاک کردیتا اور مجھے بھی -کیا اب احمقوں کی حرکت کی بناپرہمیں بھی ہلاک کردے گا یہ تو صرف تیرا امتحان ہے جس سے جس کو چاہتا ہے گمراہی میں چھوڑدیتا ہے اور جس کو چاہتا ہے ہدایت دے دیتا ہے تو ہمارا ولی ہے -ہمیں معاف کردے اورہم پر رحم فرما کہ تو بڑا بخشنے والا ہے
Moses (AS) chose from his people 70 men, who insisted upon seeing Allah with their own eyes, for an appointed tyrst on the mountain. As soon as they reached there, a trembling came on them. All the 70 men were destroyed. Then Moses(AS) recited this prayer to beseech Allah to have mercy on him and the pious among his followers.
