Ziyarat of Imam Ali on Sundays
زيارةُ أميرِ المؤمنينَ في النّوم يوم الأحد
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَى الشَّجَرَةِ النَّبَوِيَّةِ
Peace be on the Tree (inseparably tied up with) of prophethood,
وَالدَّوْحَةِ الْهاشِمِيَّةِ
tall and strong trunk (mainstay) of "Bani Hashim"(the family)
المُضيئَةِ المُثْمِرَةِ بِالنَّبُوَّةِ
pregnant and fertile with prophethood,
الْمُونِقَةِ بِالْاِمامَةِ
refined and blossomed with Imamat:
وَعَلى ضَجيعَيْكَ آدَمَ وَنُوح عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلامُ،
(on account of) you being the colleague of Adam and Nooh, peace be on them both.
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلى اَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّيِّبينَ الطّاهِرينَ،
Peace be on you, and your pure and pious children.
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلَى الْمَلائِكَةِ الْمُحْدِقينَ بِكَ وَالْحافّينَ بِقَبْرِكَ
Peace be on you, and on the Angels who stand (around you) at your beck and call, and, ever alert, move about near your resting place.
يا مَوْلايَ يا اَميرَ الْمُوْمِنينَ
O Mawlaa!O Ameer Al Momineen!
هذا يَوْمُ الْاَحَدِ
Today is Sunday,
وَهُوَ يَوْمُكَ وَبِاسْمِكَ
your day, refers to you,
وَاَنَا ضَيْفُكَ فيهِ وَ جارُكَ فَاَضِفْنى
and I, in its hours, take refuge with you, seek your nearness, therefore make me feel at home.
يا مَوْلايَ وَاَجِرْني فَاِنَّكَ كَريمٌ تُحِبُّ الضِّيافَةَ
O Mawlaa! take me in under your shelter because you are very kind, love to be hospitable, chosen and assigned to give asylum and refuge,
وَ مَأْمُورٌ بِالْاِجارَةِ فَافْعَلْ ما رَغِبْتُ اِلَيْكَ
therefore do that for which I have come unto you in this hour,
فيهِ وَرَجَوْتُهُ مِنْكَ بِمَنْزِلَتِكَ
and have turned to you, in the name and for the sake of your belief,
وَ آلِ بَيْتِكَ عِنْدَاللهِ وَمَنْزِلَتِهِ عِنْدَكُمْ
and your children's belief, in Allah, and the status He has assigned to you (all),
وَبِحَقِّ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعينَ.
for the sake of your brother (cousin), the Messenger of Allah, blessings of Allah be on him and on his children and peace be on them all.
