Rajab Dua after obligatory prayersThe following dua is recommended after the daily obligatory prayers in the month of Rajab. The dua, according to Shaykh Abbas Qummi in Mafateehul Jinaan has been taught by Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a). Sayyid Ibn Tawus has narrated that Muhammad ibn Dhakwan—known as al-Sajjad due to his long prostrations during which he used to weep so heavily that he lost his sight asked Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (a.s), saying, “May Allah accept me as ransom for you! We are now in Rajab; please teach me a supplication due to which Almighty Allah may help me.” Whereupon, the Imam (a.s) asked him to write down the following dua
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ يَا مَنْ أَرْجُوهُ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ، وآمَنُ سَخَطَهُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ شَرٍ ، يَا مَنْ يُعْطِي الْكَثِيرَ بِالْقَلِيلِ، يَا مَنْ يُعْطَي مَنْ سَأَلَهُ يَا مَنْ يُعْطي مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ تَحَنُّناً مِنْهُ وَرَحْمَةً، أَعْطِنِي بِمَسْأَلتِي إيَّاكَ جَمِيعِ خَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا، وَجَمِيعِ خَيْرِ الآخِرَةِ، وَاصْرِفْ عَنّي بِمَسْألَتي إيَّاكَ جَميعَ شَرِّ الدُّنْيا وَشَرِّ الآخِرَة فَإنَّهُ غَيْرُ مَنْقُوصٍ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَزِدْنِي مِنْ سَعَةِ فَضْلِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ.
يَا ذَاَ الْجَلالِ وَالإكْرَامِ، يَا ذَاَ النَّعْمَاءِ وَالْجُودِ، يَا ذَاَ الْمَنِّ وَالطَّوْلِ، حَرِّمْ شَيْبَتِي عَلَى النَّارِ.
